Jean Dujardin Wallpapers

Why is He famous
In 2008, French actress Marion Cotillard took home the Oscar for Best Actress, and with it, a one-way ticket to super-stardom. This year, her compatriot Jean Dujardin is looking to do the same. His brilliant (and wordless) performance in the black-and-white silent film The Artist won him an Oscar for Best Actor in 2012.
We can’t be certain, but we’re pretty sure Jean Dujardin was genetically engineered in a lab on the outskirts of Paris by a group of scientists intent on creating the perfect movie star. He’s tall, dark, handsome, charming, sophisticated, self-deprecating, and looks really good with a cigar in his mouth. Congratulations, Jacques, Pierrot and Jean-Luc -- you did it!

Success
In The Artist, Jean Dujardin plays an actor whose career is in a rut. In real life, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Already the highest-paid actor in his native France, thanks to the success of the OSS 117 spy spoofs in which he starred, Dujardin is experiencing new heights of success ever since his charming performance in The Artist earned him top acting honors at Cannes. He’s since added more awards to his ever-expanding trophy case, and after his recent Golden Globe nod, Dujardin is officially the one to beat come Oscar night.

Jean Dujardin Biography
Jean Dujardin was born just outside of Paris, and first achieved notoriety in his native France after appearing in the French talent-search show Graines de star in 1996 as one-third of the comedy trio Nous C Nous, which was an assemblage of members of the Carre Blanc Theater. That led to a recurring role in the hit series Un gars, une fille, and it was only a matter of time before Dujardin made the leap to the big screen.
Jean Dujardin Becomes The Highest-Paid Actor in France
In 2005, Jean Dujardin landed his first major movie role as a clueless surfer in the comedy Brice de Nice, a huge hit in France that drew 4.5 million people to the theater. After that, director Michel Hazanavicius cast him as the bumbling Gaullist-era double agent Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath in the spy spoof OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies. The film was one of France’s most popular that year, and earned Dujardin his first Cesar Award nomination for Best Actor. The sequel, OSS 117: Lost in Rio, was equally successful, and after a string of dramatic roles in films like Counter-Investigation and The Clink of Ice, in which he played a vengeful cop and a desperate alcoholic respectively, Dujardin became the most popular and highest-paid actor in France.
Jean Dujardin Wins a Golden Globe for The Artist
2011 has seen many virtuoso performances from Hollywood’s leading men, but with awards season in full swing, it’s Jean Dujardin, the unknown Frenchman, who’s been getting the most buzz. Since winning the top acting award at this year’s Cannes film festival for his performance in The Artist, Dujardin has been charming audiences with his beguiling turn as a silent-era movie star who must face his impending irrelevance with the rise of the talkies. The fact that Dujardin’s performance is completely silent only makes it all the more impressive.
